Five-star prospect Cherif Millogo, a 7-foot-4 center, committed to Kentucky coach Mark Pope’s 2027 recruiting class on Wednesday.
The native of Burkina Faso in West Africa is a senior at St. Francis High School in La Canada Flintridge, Calif., and ranks as the No. 2 player in California, the No. 6 center in the country and No. 29 overall player, according to the 247Sports composite.
He visited Lexington, Ky., last month and chose the Wildcats over BYU, Southern California and others.
“I have decided to commit to the University of Kentucky,” Millogo told 247Sports. “It was a long journey and obviously the other schools were trying to get me. I feel like this, since a long time is the right place for me and I’m really excited about it. This is the best basketball decision for me.
“I went on the visit there and I saw how they use their bigs for playmaking, the shooting, the defense, how they play their bigs in pick-and-roll situations, so I feel like this is a good basketball decision for me.”
Millogo is Kentucky’s second Class of 2027 commitment. He joins early commit Ryan Hampton, a five-star small forward from Rockwall, Texas, who is ranked No. 26 overall by the 247 Sports composite.
