Topeka Strong – Support

We all need a lending hand in this difficult time. Find resources to help other Topeka citizens and businesses.

The HOST Relief Program

HOST (Helping Others Support Topeka) is a small business emergency resource fund that was developed by private sector leaders, led by Scott Hunsicker. Individual donations have been raised with the intent of purchasing products or services from Shawnee County businesses. These resources will be distributed to those workers displaced, temporarily or permanently, as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

Donate to Topeka Public Schools

Help off-set costs for delivering non-instructional services and or materials to students and families related to the districts community response to the current COVID-19 crisis.

Donate need items to the Topeka Rescue Mission

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we are restricting prepared meals to only our guests. To continue to assist community members who would normally eat in our dining room we are preparing sack lunches and are in urgent need of the items

Donate masks to Stormont Vail Health Center

Stormont Vail Health is on the frontline, caring for patients who are struggling with Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). Our team is working around the clock to not only treat these patients but to slow the spread of COVID-19. They are looking for hand-sewn masks (please find instructions in the link above).

Donate to the Topeka Salvation Army

With one in six people living in poverty, a disproportionate number of Americans impacted by this outbreak will be lower-income or experiencing homelessness.  Their doors remain open to those most impacted by COVID-19 including: those who have been laid off, low-wage employees facing limited hours and childcare challenges, seniors who have restricted access to resources, and anyone else struggling to make ends meet.

Give to the Harvester’s Response Food

Your monetary gift is the most effective way to help. Through your gifts, we can leverage our buying power and purchase the food needed by our network of partner agencies. *Every dollar donated helps Harvesters provide food to the people who need it now. Should disaster relief donations exceed what is required, funds will be used to fight hunger beyond this crisis.
