Topeka Zoo Celebrating March National Reading Month

This month is National Reading Month. There are many kids who would like to read as much as they can, but are not afforded the ability to sit down and read a good story. That is where the Topeka Zoo steps in to make a difference.

All this month, anyone who comes to the zoo and donates a gently used or new book will get a $1 off the admission. Where are the books going to go? They will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Topeka. The goal is to have everyone donate 2,500 books, or the number of people that the Boys And Girls Club of Topeka serve.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Topeka Zoo has closed all indoor buildings. That means the readings that were to take place at 10:30 am each morning has been canceled. But, the zoo has asked that you still bring books to donate since the kids will be needing them in the future.
